FAQ

  • The moment you consider the project is the moment you should consider hiring an interior designer. Now, if you’re already past that point then we suggest you hire an interior designer before or around the time of hiring an architect, builder or general contractor. Knowledgeable designers are able to enhance the project and ensure that you receive a finished product that mirrors your dreams. We will be your advocate and stand by your side every step of the way to ensure your vision is brought to life.

  • We are located in Bloomfield, NJ but cover most of the New York City tri-state area. If you are located outside of the New York City tri-state area and are interested in working with us, we would be happy to discuss your design needs and can figure out the logistics from there, even if you are internationally based. If we are a good fit, location doesn't matter as much!

  • “The magic of TV” plays a huge role on these reality TV shows because they are not based in real time, however, calling these shows “reality TV” is really a bit of a misnomer because it is not reality. These shows feature and present results, but not the design process and the many phases that are a part of any design practice. What you don’t see on TV are the months of pre-planning that go on behind the scenes, which is probably the only instance in which our processes align, because that prep work cannot be featured along side everything else that is shown in a half hour to an hour program. What you see on TV is not in real time or real life and our timelines and scope of work is based in real time. You can still have a beautiful reveal, but the only “magic” we use is our abilities to bring your vision to life.

  • As an interior designer, we are your professional unbiased expert and liaison between your various services and trades people, i.e. your architect, builder, general contractor, etc. It is our job to communicate the information based on the who, what, where and how of the project to the appropriate parties.

  • Designing or building a house or a space without an interior designer is like making a movie without a director. With a designer on board and acting as your advocate 100% of the time, you will have someone taking the reins with all decisions, someone who knows exactly how all of the pieces in your very large project puzzle impacts the next and someone who will most definitely take those pieces and create a home that is uniquely and perfectly yours.

  • Full service interior design refers to creating a turn-key design for your project, from the initial consultation all the way through to the final phases of installation. Full service can apply to a single room, a collection of rooms or an entire home in a single installation. Full service interior design applies even if you already own a few of the pieces we will use to complete your project. It’s all about what works while also bringing your vision to life.

  • This is a tough one because there is no straightforward answer. Every timeline is site specific and based on the individual project scope of work. While every project is unique, timelines are always subject to change, however, due to the current state of material shortages and labor within the industry, smaller scale, full service projects average at about a minimum of six months. Larger scale, full service projects consisting of a full-on remodel average at a minimum of one year.

  • This is also a tough one. Like the full service design process, this is also site specific and based on the individual project scope of work, but generally the e-design process is requested by individuals who are not within the tristate area and/or for those that require the experience and expertise of an interior designer without the financial commitment of full service interior design. This process is done entirely remote and can average at about a minimum of six - eight weeks, but again, please keep in mind every project is unique and timelines are always subject to change.
